We love when Atlanta “sparkles” with Holiday Lights this time of year! The possibilities are endless to celebrate the holiday season in this wonderful city and are even more plentiful post-pandemic. We’ve gathered up our favorite holiday light shows in the Metro Atlanta area, and hope you consider going with your family and friends! Be sure to start making your plans soon since these events won’t last much longer!
Garden Lights, Holiday Nights at the Atlanta Botanical Garden
Often voted the best holiday event in Metro Atlanta and featuring over one million colorful lights, Garden Lights is a must-see! While plenty of the show’s fan-favorite features will return, guests can expect new twists, including a colorful Glowing Grove along the Flower Walk, oversized flowers leading to Ice Goddess, and several lighted sculptures from the 2021 summer exhibition SUPERnatural: Glass Art by Jason Gamrath.

IllumiNights at the Zoo
If you don’t want to see your “average” Christmas lights, visit the Atlanta Zoo, which is currently hosting a Chinese Lantern Festival through January 16! Stroll the Zoo after dark to be inspired by more than 80 animal lanterns – some up to 20 feet tall – depicting some of Earth’s most charismatic creatures. Each lantern is made and hand-painted by Chinese artisans, therefore representing thousands of hours of work.
