    2.  Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament at Callaway Gardens

A little over 2 hours away from North Atlanta by car, Callaway Gardens is a wonderful weekend retreat any time of the year, but especially during its annual Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament.     3.  Celebrate the Troops at Stone Mountain Park 

This year, you have plenty of activities to choose from at Stone Mountain Park, which will be open from 10:30am to 8pm, with laser shows and fireworks at 9:30pm, live music on the lawn and there will be a 5K and 2.2K race!
