Fulton County 2025 Property Assessment Notices Have Been Mailed – Here’s What You Need to Know

On June 23, 2025, the Fulton County Board of Assessors announced that the 2025 Notice of Assessment has been mailed to property owners and is now available for online review at the Fulton County Board of Assessors website.

According to the official notice:
“Property owners should carefully review their notice as soon as possible. Due to recent reports of delayed mail in many parts of metro Atlanta, property owners are encouraged to review their notices online. Residents who do not have computer access may visit the offices of the Fulton County Board of Assessors for assistance.”

If you own property in Fulton County, here are some important tips to help you navigate the assessment process:

1. Deadline to Appeal: August 1, 2025

You have 45 days from the date on the assessment notice to appeal the fair market value of your property. For most property owners, that deadline falls on August 1, 2025. You may file an appeal directly with Fulton County or choose to hire a professional firm to assist with the process. Keep in mind: an appeal can result in a decrease, no change, or even an increase in your assessed value, so review your documentation carefully.

2. Check for Your Homestead Exemption

If you claim your Fulton County property as your primary residence, you should see a homestead exemption reflected on your notice. This exemption can provide significant tax savings. If it’s not shown and you believe you qualify, contact the Board of Assessors immediately.

3. Review the Fair Market Value

Make sure the fair market value listed aligns with recent sales of similar properties in your neighborhood.
If your value seems too high based on market trends, comparable sales, or property condition, this may be grounds for an appeal.

4. Review Property Details for Accuracy

Errors in your property’s characteristics — such as incorrect square footage, number of bedrooms or bathrooms, or condition — can lead to incorrect valuations. Double-check all listed details and notify the assessor’s office if you find discrepancies.
