We just found out that one of our clients in Willow Springs reached out to an Electrician to provide a quote for some work on their new home. Most of it was relatively minor and included adding some GFCI outlets. 

During the service call the Electrician tried to talk our client into getting a new panel. Our clients did not take the bait and called us for advice and quickly had a preferred vendor come out to provide a second opinion. 

Well you know where this is headed. The panel was fine and our preferred electrician got the work done at a reasonable price. 

We have seen a number of scam tactics recently from a variety of service companies and contractors in our area. Nextdoor.com to your HOA website blog are great resources to find home service providers. 

Remember to get a second opinion or quote, even if it requires paying a trip or service call fee. $95 for a second opinion could save you thousands! Common home repair scams : Plumbing, Electrician, Garage Door, Roofing
